5 Tips To Organise Your Small Business

When business is booming it can be hard to keep on top of things. Here are 5 tips to help your small business get back on track:

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Keep a tidy workspace: although sometimes easier said than done but did you know the Princeton University Neuroscience Institution found that chaos can stifle your ability to focus? Set aside a set time at the beginning of each day to say bye-bye to clutter and hello to focus!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Write a To-do List: I write a to-do list everyday without fail. It allows me to focus on the jobs at hand and prioritise the most important. And if I don’t tick everything off? I move them onto the next days list. Try it. You may be surprised by their effectiveness.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Respond to emails as you open them: Luke and I have different ways of dealing with our inbox; Luke will leave all emails unread and have a set time to open and respond to all, I open emails as I go and respond to them straightaway. Whichever way you choose, responding to emails when opening them will save you time down the line when you’re unable to remember if you have or haven’t responded!

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Upgrade to online accounting software: While desktop accounting software has its benefits, for the small business owner conscious of their limited time and money, online accounts software can be your best friend. With the ability to run your business from your phone at any location, it could be the way forward for your small business. (Our Online accounts packages start from just £8.64 a month!)

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Hire a Virtual Assistant: In the end, there may well be some jobs you just don’t have the time to do by yourself. VA’s can take the load off and help propel your business forward. Most have a range of skills and if they can’t do it, they’ll refer you to someone who can!
